2016 Summer Intern Bloggers

Michael Hetrick – Assurance Intern, Sacramento

Michael is a senior at CSU Sacramento and is anticipating graduating with 150 units for CPA eligibility in May of 2017. He has been a member of Beta Alpha Psi for the past 3 semesters and is now serving as the chapter’s treasurer. Michael credits much of his recent growth and development to the organization.

When off campus, Michael enjoys trying new things, food, traveling, and gaming. Before attending school, he traveled to a number of enticing locales around the world to compete in a card game, Magic: the Gathering. While still a gamer, he now focuses his analytical mind on personal and professional development. He also loves a great restaurant or cuisine especially if he hasn’t tried them before.



Jenae White – Assurance Intern, San Francisco

Jenae was born and raised in Missoula, MT where she just completed her fourth year at the University of Montana. This fall she will be taking her victory lap semester to finish her B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. During her time at the University of Montana she also completed minors in biology and communication studies. She is currently living the dream in San Francisco while interning in audit. In her free time she enjoys skiing, exploring new places, and photography. While wrapping up her education this fall, she plans to become an avid golfer.


Eric Oates – Rotational Intern, Orange County

Eric grew up in a small town in Northern California, and came down to Southern California four years ago. He is going into his fifth and final year at Long Beach State University with a major in Business Administration, focusing in Accountancy. He also competes athletically as a member of Long Beach State’s rowing team, in addition to holding officer positions in both the rowing team and Long Beach’s Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society. He is currently interning at the Orange County Office in Irvine, California. In his free time, he’s a big sports fan, rooting for the Sacramento Kings and San Francisco 49ers.

Arin Contreras – Assurance/Tax Intern, Medford, OR

Arin was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA. She is currently completing her Accounting Professional Degree at Simpson University (Redding, CA), to graduate December, 2016. After five years, she plans to end with a “quieter semester,” taking five classes and working as cross country team manager. She likes to make time to run, play piano, read, zipline, and listen to Brian Regan.

Arin aspires to begin her CPA licensure in 2017 and to one day visit Corsica, France and Sicily, Italy, where her family is from originally.

Scott Bohmke – Tax Intern, Seattle


Scott is a recent Arizona State University alum and is currently working in his second tax internship with Moss Adams in Seattle. As an accountant, distance runner, and passionate baseball statistician, cocktail conversations come easily. Outside of work, Scott enjoys running (just like Moss Adams, he tries to go further, faster), reading, and being outdoors. Follow along with the blog if you can keep up!




Kelli Breland – Tax Intern, Tacoma

Kelli grew up in the Tacoma, WA, area, where she attends Pacific Lutheran University and is a tax intern at the Tacoma office. At school, she is the student president of PLU’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honors society, a PLU School of Business Ambassador, and the Chairperson of the PLU Student Media Board. At the office, Kelli looks forward to learning more about taxation, especially in preparation for her CPA exam, which she will sit for after she graduates in 2016. When she’s not at school or in the office, Kelli can be found enjoying the Pacific Northwest’s great outdoors, where she loves to downhill ski, hike, and kayak.


Jamie Martin – Assurance Intern, Portland


Jamie was born and raised in Medford, Oregon, and attended Oregon State University. She will be spending her final term studying abroad in Vienna, Austria on an exchange program. Upon her return she will graduate with a degree in accounting and international business. She hopes to follow a path to the assurance side of accounting upon completion of her degree. In her free time she enjoys the occasional hike as well as browsing farmers markets on the weekends.



Amanda Wilson – Tax Intern, Seattle

Amanda is a Tax Intern at the Moss Adams Seattle office and a recent graduate from the University of Washington with a degree in Business Administration. She is returning the UW in the fall to pursue a Master of Professional Accounting in Tax. Originally from the Yakima Valley in Eastern Washington, she enjoys river rafting, camping, and fly-fishing. Since moving to Seattle in 2011, she has expanded her interests to include home brewing, hiking, and occasional paddle boarding.

Scott Flanary – Regional Campus Recruiting Manager, Southern California, Phoenix, Albuquerque


Scott has been with Moss Adams since March 2013 and he sits in the Los Angeles practice office. Scott has over eight years of experience working with college students, including admissions, first-year programming, and teaching leadership courses. Prior to his career in higher education, Scott worked on a cruise ship, sailing the seven seas while hosting game shows and teaching line dancing. Nowadays, Scott is an avid CrossFit athlete and he participates in local and international competitions regularly. Most recently, he and his team finished ninth in Southern California in a three-month competition series.

This past June, Chelsea graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Business Administration.  Chelsea is originally from a small town in Wyoming, and she loves going home to hike and see the starry night sky.  In LA, Chelsea enjoys getting together with friends over great food or coffee, or spending the day at the beach.





2014 Summer Intern Bloggers

Scott Bohmke – Tax Intern, Seattle


Scott is a student at Arizona State University and tax intern in the Seattle office. He is excited to uncover the secrets of the mysterious 1120, 1120s, 1065, and 1040 tax forms that drive the accounting profession. He hopes to remain in public accounting for a long time and grow with the firm. Outside of work, Scott enjoys running marathons (just like Moss Adams, he tries to run further, faster), watching/playing sports, and being outside. Follow his posts if you can keep up!


Monica Lindly – Tax/Assurance Intern, Portland



Monica joined Moss Adams as an intern for the 2014 Busy Season on the assurance side of the practice. She is now doing a tax and assurance internship, and will be joining Moss Adams full time in the Fall of 2014. Monica attended Oregon State University, and graduated in June of 2014 and starting this August is sitting for her CPA exams. She enjoys outdoor activities, going to new restaurants in Portland, and is hoping to get a puppy after next busy season!

Alex Pupping – Assurance Intern, San Diego

Alex is pursuing her B.S. in Accounting with a concentration in Business Law at Loyola Marymount University. She grew up in San Diego County, and presently resides in Carlsbad, CA. Alex has various interests including a passion for soccer, music, and travel. She began playing soccer at the age of four but has since stopped playing competitively during college. When it comes to music, Alex had the opportunity to build her own Stratocaster guitar from scratch and frequently attends concerts. She fueled her travel desires by studying abroad in Australia for the fall 2013 semester. Additionally, Alex is an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, having participated in the chapter’s intramural soccer team and is currently the LMU chapter’s Vice President of Administration. Alex is honored to be given the opportunity to intern with Moss Adams, and is already loving the experience in working with the San Diego office.
